MOIST CHOCOLATE CAKE
Growing up, I knew cakes were only for special occasions like weddings🤣 a few lucky people could afford them on birthdays.. that is me excluded. I remember one time i had to cry just so my mum could get me one for my birthday ( the feeling of her fulfilling her promise was heavenly,,the whole neighborhood celebrated that day🤗 I even thank God I cried because if not.. I would still be waiting for my birthday cake till now.
I'm glad at how things change.. though not for everybody.Just like chapati, cakes too can be bought for as low as 20ksh...... See God 🙏
Today let's try making this chocolate moist cake
Prep time 10mins
Cook time 40 mins
Cooling time 1 hour
Total time 1 hr 50 mins
INGREDIENTS.
1/2 cup oil
1 cup milk
3 eggs
1 cup hot water
N/B (all the above are wet ingredients )
2 cups cake flour or all purpose flour
11/2 tsp baking powder
11/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
11/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp salt
Again(all this are dry ingredients)
INSTRUCTIONS
1. In a large bowl,whisk together baking flour,baking soda.baking powder,cocoa powder, and salt then set aside.
2. In another bowl whisk together eggs,oil,milk,oil,and set aside.
3. Add in sugar
4. Add hot water slowly by slowly until it is well incorporated (the hot water" blooms" the cocoa powder resulting in a chocolate flavor more rich and tasty.
5. Preheat you oven at 180 degrees for about 10 minutes meanwhile oil your baking tin or put margarine then dust with flour .(you don't want your cake to stick ,so don't skip this step )
6.Pour in the cake mixture and bake for a full 35- 40 minutes until when you poke the center with a toothpick it comes out clean.
7.Serve it up
